I applied through internshala and was called into the office for joining.
First Day Formalities Initial Impressions
The first day I was introduced to Gitanjali Ma’am and Priyanka Ma’am who handle the legal matters of the organisation. I also met Gauri Ma’am who is the Member Secretary of the organisation. All of them were very humble and helpful.
Most of the tasks were assigned by Gitanjali Ma’am which mainly consisted of Research work pertaining to Animals Welfare Laws and Environmental Laws. The interns are given access to SCC for the same.
The interns are also assigned various other tasks pertaining to drafting/editing of legal documents. Gitanjali Ma’am is present at the office most of the times and she is very helpful and answers every doubt patiently and carefully.
The interns are required to carry their laptops every day since most of the work is research it is very important to carry the laptop everyday.
Good things about this internship were that my research skills improved a lot after this internship. Also when I interned, there were little kittens who were being fostered at the office. So I got to play with them when I used to get a little tired while working.
The bad things were I realised how harshly and inhumanely animals are treated and how our country lacks proper Animal Cruelty Laws.
No stipend, reimbursement for expenses incurred for office tasks.
I stay in Janakpuri and used to take the Magenta line for reaching the Green Park metro station.
Being an animal lover I learned a lot about various animal welfare laws which will be useful to me.
