On the first day, the head of the firm. Mr. Sanjiv Dagar took a brief introduction and acquainted me with the work of the firm. He gave me an online privacy contract draft to read so that I get acquainted with the drafting of click/ wrap contracts.

I also interacted with other associates. Everyone had a welcoming attitude for interns which made my internship even better. The associates in the firm were very friendly and helpful.

Main tasks

I worked on various laws such as Companies Act, 2013, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, Guardians and Wards Act,1890, Hindu Minority and Guardianship Act, 1956, Indian Contract Act, 1872, Delhi International Arbitration Centre Rules,2018, Indian Evidence Act, 1872, Code of Civil Procedure,1908, The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006 and did extensive research on various legislative enactments concerning Labour law.

I also drafted legal notices, TDS replies, filed case for Delayed payment at Micro and Small Enterprises Facilitation Council (MSEFC), Haryana on MSME Samadhan Portal.

Apart from this, I was also asked to find important judgements pertaining to cases which were to be argued before courts. I also filed certain suits In Delhi High Court, filed Execution suit, Process Fee at Saket District Court, Summons at Gurgaon District Court and physical and e-filing at National Company Law Tribunal. Every intern is alloted some topics to write an article and make a presentation which really helps us to learn new areas.

Good things

The location of the firm gives an insight into the Corporate World as Gurugram is the hub of corporate companies in Delhi NCR. The everyday Lunch along with twice a tea in the entire day provided to me was another add on to my wonderful experience here. They have a Dog as a permanent member of the Legajoist family.

The associates in the firm are very learned as the team consists of Advocates, Company Secretaries, Insolvency Professionals etc. Amit sir, Deepa ma’am, Shubham sir, Umang sir, Sumit sir, Deewakar Sir and Dilip sir were polite and humble and assisted me in the entire period of internship. I was given to make ppt on 10 enactments concerning labour law. It provided me insight into labour law which would surely help me in years to come.

Bad things

Nothing as such. If you are not much more inclined towards corporate you may feel a little less comfortable but the firm has a lot of work and also deals with matters of family law, Section 138 of Negotiable Instrument Act etc.

It depends on the discretion of the firm and your performance.

Accommodation, commuting to the office

There is also a PG at the office. The office is situated on the ground floor. While on the first and second floor, rooms are available. It’s better to take a room here as it saves your travelling costs. Kitchen is on the third floor.
