Address: MIG 704, Vijaystambh, Opposite Vishal Mega Mart, Zone 1, MP Nagar, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh 462016.
Duration of internship
8th May 2019 – 3rd June 2019 [I intended to intern for just a month. But since I was getting good work I interned for about 2 months].
How you applied?
I knew the managing partner of the firm personally so I just had to call him and request for an internship. You can apply by sending your CV and cover letter to his email at- pastor[at]innovislawpartners.com or call him.
First day formalities, infrastructure, first impression
The office is located in the heart of the city MP Nagar. It’s a well-equipped and spacious office, has 2 cabins for Ankur and Rishabh Sir and a small cafeteria and kitchen.
On the first day, interns are usually asked to reach by around 11:30 am. You will probably meet Rishabh sir at that time. Ankur sir usually come at around 12:30 pm if he doesn’t have a case. If he has some case you will be able to meet sir only after he comes back at around 2:30 pm.
On the first day, sir explains to you about the firm and the kind of matters that are dealt with by the firm. Ankur sir always believe in making things clear from the very first day itself. Thus by explaining about this firm, he is also in a way giving you an opportunity to decide if you want to intern with him or not.
Innovis law is a litigation-based firm. It has matters on Negotiable Instruments Act, Arbitration Act And Matters Before The MSME Council.
Since I was a 5th-year student, I was given the best works in the firm. I was given an opportunity to draft various petitions, legal notices, applications, statement of claims, writ petitions etc.
Other than that I also researched on Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996, Negotiable Instruments Act, Trademarks Act, Company Law, Contract Law, Civil Procedural Code, Insurance Law, Banking Law, Consumer Protection Act Etc.
Other than this, there was typical law firm work such as flagging, preparing a list of dates, contract summarising, case briefing etc.
The best thing about his internship was that I never felt like an intern. Sir took me to meet the clients and handed over the files to me for making the cases. The kind of work I got made me feel confident and responsible for the work,
The firm is a growing and Ankur & Rishabh Sir are the persons behind its growth and they are too busy. Thus, the bad thing is that you do not get a lot of time to spend with sir as they are too busy.
Anyways to everyone who is reading I would suggest that you would devote yourself, and would really work hard you will have ample opportunity to learn.
Accommodation, commuting to the office
The office is located in MP Nagar. You will find tonnes of hostels, flats and PG in an around the office within 1 km.
Anything else, what you did to chill out, lessons learnt etc.
Work hard and pay attention to details. As lawyers the most important skill we have is drafting thus we need to be good at this job.
I am an army girl! In a barbie world! Keeper of 5 dogs. On a diet for now. Sometimes I might make punctuation mistakes, but I make up for it by bringing in a crore or two extra. What's more important, a misplaced comma, or a well-placed crore?
