First day formalities, first impression, infrastructure
I came to the office at 9 am as per the instructions I got. The staffs were really welcoming and then I met the HR manager who made me sign an NDA and then the receptionist introduced me to other associates and showed my working space.
Infrastructure is fancy, the office is spacious and all other amenities needed are provided to ensures a soothing working environment.
- In-depth research work, in relation to NBFC, FEMA and other regulations.
- Reviewing the statutory documents filed by companies and clients.
- Draft and review work on agreements.
- Performing Proof-Reading.
- Keying the documents provided by the clients.
A considering set of associates, who provide an intact explanation of the work to be performed by you and are approachable for any queries in relation to work.
The nature of work provided is worth for a corporate aspirant. I had an opportunity to work under the Principal Associate in relation to certain queries of the client in relation to the holding structure of a company. The guidance provided by the associate in relation to approaching the work was resourceful.
I was also provided with genuine feedback to the work performed. The feedback focuses on mutual development rather unwanted sugar-coating or blatant criticism. The vibe in the office is extremely healthy and friendly. A caring set of office staff and their regular refreshing confectioneries made everyone on focus.
Didn’t find any real fault.
It is purely performance based.
Accommodation to the office and commuting
I rented an apartment nearby with a friend and it was 4 km from the office. Cab facilities are readily available to and fro as the office is situated in the centre of Nungambakkam, a very easily accessible place in Chennai. There are nearby shops where you can have affordable lunches too.
Anything else, lessons learnt
ICUL is the law firm any corporate law aspirant would look for as they offer a very educative and fostering environment to transform you to a well-abled corporate lawyer.
I learnt my basics in Company law and a number of other corporate legislations here and the experience here was extremely beneficial for me as a corporate law aspirant.
