I was thought how to communicate with them efficiently and engage with the students.

I was informed that pictorial representation can be beneficial in passing the message on to persons with disabilities; regarding their legal rights and duties.

Work Environment

It was an online internship and hence we had our meetings and discussions via Google meet.

Good Things

I had a flexible schedule and had to submit projects before the deadline which taught me time management.

We had good interactive opportunities with experts in various fields and doubt clearing sessions after every interaction.

This internship also strengthened my research skills as I was allotted mostly research-oriented work.

It also taught me creating animated videos that improved my editing skills.

had the opportunity to educate persons with disabilities regarding their rights and interact with them and could listen to their viewpoints.

Bad Things

Nothing as such but could’ve been better had it been an offline internship.

No stipend

Details about accommodation and commute

As it was an online internship there was no need for the commute.

Anything else?

Interning at the Diya Foundation taught me the importance of being properly informed about a person’s rights and duties.

It taught me about The Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and the various provisions under it.

My mentor was extremely supportive and helpful.
