FIRST DAY FORMALITIES
I was asked to report at 11:00 AM to the office, upon arrival there were no particular formalities. We were introduced to Siddharth Sir and he briefed us about the firm and the kind of work provided. I got a task to research on white-collar crimes and financial frauds.
Later was also asked to look into the Bombay Port Trust matter. Later, I was introduced to Team. Anushka Ma’am, an advocate-associate of the firm would further overlook the work that we did. The day ended on the note of a discussion in the conference room regarding all the work that the interns did.
My main task was research-based work dealing with a variety of areas such as criminal law, ongoing corporate law matters and even environmental law. I further attended client counselling sessions and got familiar with the mechanism of the same. When other interns were allotted different set of tasks, we were asked to familiarize ourselves with the same through mutual discussions and briefing.
This would, in turn, help us get better acquainted with the kinds of tasks that we worked on throughout the internship period. Lastly, we were encouraged to write a snippet of a topic we had worked on, this would appear on the intern and the firm’s profile alike.
The work environment is very positive. The associates and partners were all approachable and Siddharth Sir himself was in the same measure guiding as he was friendly.
There was no undue pressure or the issue of unreasonable timings. We would have food ordered for us by Sir at times and guidance was provided for things beyond the scope of the internship. Tips on how to better one’s CV, writing academic papers and drafting advice was given too.
Sometimes interns may find themselves free for the day. However, even if it is so they are free to browse through the case files that the firm has engaged in and get themselves acquainted with the same.
I was provided with a stipend of Rs. 5,000/-

I am an army girl! In a barbie world! Keeper of 5 dogs. On a diet for now. Sometimes I might make punctuation mistakes, but I make up for it by bringing in a crore or two extra. What's more important, a misplaced comma, or a well-placed crore?
