First Day Formalities Initial Impressions
On the first day, I was introduced to my co-interns and the HR. There is one separate room where interns work and I was taken to that room where other interns were sitting. I was asked to fill a form where certain details are required for the attendance purpose.
I waited for 2-3 hours and then I got the call from an associate where she gave me the research on IBC. There is no personal department or area and all the interns are given exposure in all the areas.
The first day was good but the people in the firm are very particular about the activities of the intern and you have to be very disciplined when you are in the office. Also, they are very particular about the timings.
Extensive research work, briefing seniors and drafting documents were the main tasks. Also, exposure to Calcutta High Court and NCLT is there.
Calcutta High Court is nearby where you can get good food in the canteen. Also, if you are a chai lover, then Calcutta is the best place for kulhar chai.
You will get varities of food downstairs near the apartment at a very reasonable price. Office is also luxurious and there is much to learn from the ground level itself as the assosiates are very frank.
They are very particular about the timings. Also, you have to wear formals all day even when it is not a court-day which can be sometimes uncomfortable during summers.
Rs. 2000/- for a month
I resided near Girish Park which is 15-20 mins from the office. You can book a share cab or can take metro from Esplanade.
At the end of the internship, the interns have to select a topic and on the last day they have to present it before the assosiates through a ppt which is very good.
Also, Punctuality is the best policy and it is very important to make contacts when you are in such a struggling field.
