Application Process

I applied through the training and placement cell of my college.

First Day Formalities Initial Impressions

On the first day we were made to sit in the conference room and given some forms to fill as per the internship policy of the firm. Next, we were introduced to the Chief Executive Officer of the firm and alloted our work stations for the duration of the internship.

Since we were to work with the corporate team of the firm we were also introduced to Ms. Tanya Wadhawan (Co-head, Corporate Team) who gave us a drafting assignment on the very first day to gauge our contract drafting skills. This very first task set the tone for the rest of the internship and gave us a glimpse of the exhilarating journey that lay ahead.

Main Tasks

The work primarily comprised drafting contracts and legal opinions. I learnt the nuances of drafting a variety of contracts like Master Research Agreement, Master Franchisee Agreement, Patent License Agreement etc. The research spanned across various areas of law like Companies Act, FEMA, tax laws etc.

I also got the opportunity to observe Taniya ma’am deal with top clients with great skill and professionalism. This, in particular, was a great learning experience for me and helped me understand the nuances of client dealing better.

Good Things

The best part of the internship was the mentor I worked with. Working under Tanya ma’am I realised that only those who have a very balanced attitude towards work can excel in the profession. I learnt a great deal from her great pool of knowledge and the spirit with which she handles every challenge that comes her way.

Another good thing about the internship was the top-notch clients whose cases I got to work upon. Some of these matters involved an interplay of various laws like FEMA, tax and Companies Law and getting to work on these that too under the guidance of ma’am expanded my understanding of the way in which transactions work in the real world.

Bad Things

None.

Stipend

Yes, 3.5 thousand for 1.5 months.

Accommodation Commute

I used the Blue line metro to travel between NOIDA Sector 62 and Sector 16 NOIDA. I was staying in a rented accommodation in NOIDA Sector 62.

Other Info

I used to chill with my co-interns. There is plenty of ice cream available around the office. That more than sufficed my needs. There is also a CCD nearby.
