First day formalities, infrastructure, first impression
Ashwani K Dubey practices in Supreme Court of India, Delhi High Court, National Green Tribunal, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Central Administrative Tribunal and other Tribunals and Courts of Delhi.
I was asked to report first day at around 10:30am in morning at the office in Mayur Vihar. On the very first day, we were asked to just study case files which were related to Transfer Petition in Matrimonial Cases. Later on after court hours, we reported to sir. Sir is very generous and humble and also he first wanted us to know the basics first.
The office at Mayur Vihar is well spacious with computers and wi-fi for work purposes. At office we had other sir to help us with our assigned work and that was so learning and knowledgeable.
As an intern, we were not only assigned case files to read but also to make our own notes over those cases, analyze the grounds and question of law. We also prepared briefs for cases such as medical negligence, criminal and civil cases. Apart from case studies, we were asked to prepare certain speeches or write articles for current issues and that was something different, challenging and good research enhancing task at the office.
Also, sir is an environmentalist advocate and we were also asked to study about thermal plants case studies which he has filed before NGT and Supreme Court. This was something different to learn and understand the grounds.
As a part of internship we use to visit the Supreme Court, High Court, Patiala House Court, NCLT and other district courts of Delhi. Hearing the arguments and judges response at the Supreme Court was quiet learning and experiencing the Court Room number 1.
Sir taught us many things about professionalism and being punctual. He also acquainted us with many renowned and knowledgeable people who use to visit his office. Also with this, he always made sure that we capture these memories. It is my best Internship to date. The atmosphere at the office is very healthy and people there treat like family.
No bad things
No stipend. Knowledge and beautiful memories which I gathered there is more than any stipend.

I am an army girl! In a barbie world! Keeper of 5 dogs. On a diet for now. Sometimes I might make punctuation mistakes, but I make up for it by bringing in a crore or two extra. What's more important, a misplaced comma, or a well-placed crore?
