Under HC Lawyer Mr. Amrendra Kumar, Patna HC
He is a famous lawyer of Patna HC. My uncle was his client. So, I contacted him for internship through my uncle.
Duration of internship and timings
I interned under him for a period of 1 month. I had to be in court from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
As its a HC, there was so much rush there because there is a common place where about 7-8 lawyers sit together. So, there were many clients and so many interns too. Its an old building and infrastructure is not so good. When i reached there he had a case. So, i went with him to see the proceedings.
I had to make report on the proceedings of the court which i used to observe. I had to make brief on those cases. Apart from that i had to research on different legislation and case laws.
Sometimes i was given work of drafting and notice-reply. Work environment and people Sir was very nice. He was very cool. He used to explain me the facts of the cases in the most simpler way.
He never used to scold me for any mistakes. He used to clear my doubts again and again if i was not able to do any work assigned by him.
For the first time i learnt drafting there. As it was my internship i really enjoyed there. Because it was a very different, practical kind of experience for me apart from the normal, routing theoretical studies that i did in college. So, overall it was nice.
Sometimes there was no work and i had to sit idle as i had to travel around 20 Kms to reach the HC. So, sitting jobless there was troublesome for me.
Because just to roam around in court is of no use if somebody is not there to guide you and the worst thing is the clerical work which i had to do sometimes.
The more you will work the more you like it.
There is one point of time when the harassment and irritation because of the work-load changes into enjoyment and you start enjoying your work because each case you study gives you new knowledge and information and hard work never gets wasted and its use is realised later.
