Duration of internship and timings
I did the internship after completing 1st semester, from 19th January to 6th February 2017. Timings were from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Sundays were the holidays. And around 1 PM we had an hour as Lunch Break.
First impression, first day formalities, Infrastructure
The first day I was introduced to the HR and other associates. They were other interns also so, I introduced myself to them got an introduction from them about the office and it`s working.
Then I was asked to fill my name and other details in the excel sheet maintained for the Intern’s Record. There was also an attendance register in which we had to mentioned the timing of our arrival & departure. Later on, the HR also asked me to bring my passport size photos & hard copy of the Resume for the records.
The Office is situated at the 2nd floor at the residence of Mr. Akhil Modi and there is also parking facility for the employees and visitors of the Office. According to the type of work done, the office was kind of divided into different division. The interns were allotted the division by the HR. There were PCs and inter-com installed at each desk. There wasn’t any particular room for the interns, however the interns could sit nearby the associate under whom they were working.
Well, there was any main task instead the variety of work was available for the interns. The interns could be asked for the research work pertaining to Arbitration Law, Consumer Law, Insurance Law, etc, or some drafting work.
Besides, the work of arranging the files, marking annexure and other miscellaneous work could also be done by the interns. Every intern is supposed to submit their research work and drafting through e-mails. I was also given the task of translating Consumer case reply and affidavit from Hindi to English.
Work environment and people
The atmosphere is really pleasant and comfortable to work. The interns are not burdened with any particular work. The associates were really helpful and ready to explain any concept to the interns. Also, occasionally the associates would have some fun with the interns.
While doing an internship here, one can learn Arbitration law very well. Also, availability of a variety of work for the interns is also an important point.
Well, as it was my first internship, so being in the office for such a long time appeared bad to me. Besides this, I didn’t find any bad thing in this internship.
Putting all your efforts in your work can provide you with a surprising admiration which in turn will motive you to work further and also it will have a long lasting impression among the associates.
