Internship Experience @ Advocate Renu Gupta, New Delhi; Stipend of Rs. 5,000

Address of the Office: D-327, Basement, Defence Colony, New Delhi – 110024.

Duration of the internship: 4 weeks in the month of May (Summer Internship). The office is working 6 days in a week. Saturday is the day off and the office remains working on Sundays. The office timings are 10:30 am to 8:00 pm.

Office environment: The office is very nice and spacious. It is a good place to work. Ma’am also maintain’s the library which is really helpful.

One may find all the reading material required during the term of the internship. Ma’am also has access to legal databases for quick online research.

Also, The office is well maintained one.

(Tea and coffee are readily available to keep you going through the day.)

Accommodation: I reside in Delhi and so, I did not need any accommodation. But, one can easily find in Lajpat Nagar which is very close to the office location.

Main tasks: My main task was research, drafting, making judgement notes, attending Arbitration Proceedings etc. I also assisted in preparing list of dates of an Arbitration.

I would accompany Ma’am to the National Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum, NGT, Delhi High Court and also for Arbitration. I was given the relevant case file for reading a day before, so I was able to follow the hearing.

During this internship, I have drafted an Appeal, Rejoinder for consumer cases etc.

Ma’am mainly deals in Consumer cases, Arbitration and Environment law matters.

Stipend/month: Rs. 5,000/-

Personal Experience: There is a lot I got to learn. One can never get bored. I actually, understood what work pressure is and it is really important to meet deadlines. I even interned again with ma’am.

The office environment is strict and professional but it is easy to blend in. It was a great learning experience.
