Application Process with contact details

No process as such. They are district court lawyers and they just need the students who are zealous to learn.

Duration of internship and timings

May 1, 2016 – June 30, 2016

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

There were students from other colleges too, mostly from my state itself i.e. Uttarakhand.

On the first day we were introduced to the other advocates of the adjacent chambers and were given a tour of the whole district court and weekly we were supposed to report at the Hon’ble High Court in Nainital.

Main tasks

Mainly we were asked to read all the recent case files which our interning advocates were dealing with at that time and were supposed to observe the proceedings with them in the court while they argued in front of the judges.

We were also taught drafting along with this.

Work environment and people

The work environment was amazing, everyone; specially the seniors and the advocates themselves were very helpful, we can go to them and clear our queries anytime we wanted when they were available.

It was a very healthy and friendly work environment.

Best things

Best thing about the courts was the place, specially Nainital HC, the location of the court is very beautiful.

Secondly, all the advocates were super friendly and even the judges, when free, we could ask them our queries and they would definitely help us.

Bad things

The only drawback about these courts is the place, Nainital and Haldwani are such places where crime rates are really low, there are a lot of civil matters but criminal matters are petty in nature.

Stipend

No stipend

Biggest Lessons

We start from the bottom itself, it does not mean that we will never grow, we start small and reach to something really big.

All what I learnt there is no matter how small the place is, opportunities will always be their with its door open in front of us.

Office Timings

Morning 9 a.m. sharp till 3 p.m. in the evening which could extend till 5 p.m.
