First impression
My very first day, I was the typical doe-eyed anxious student wondering about what this experience will entail, However as soon as I met the coolest boss ( a.k.a the Managing Attorney and Founder of Abrise Legal), Ms Richa Joshi, I was at ease.
She took an interview initially during which she gave me further pointers about my CV and the use of transferable skills from other things I had done, a perspective I’ve often found missing elsewhere, then it was the basic introduction to the working areas of the firm. Also, the office is so cute, for lack of a better word. It has elements that make you go Woah! Great enviornment=Great mood for work, A life lesson I learnt here
Main tasks
Trademark filings, Examination report replies, drafting agreements, Legal Research, Public search for trademarks, debt recovery notice, Preparing case studies, Also got a chance to attend trademark hearings.
Work environment
The Work environment is fun, positive and every moment is a complete learning experience, when I went here, I was John Snow -I knew nothing but soon I got hands-on work and learnt through it. I learnt about the nuances of the law, how small words make big differences, the essential skills for a lawyer, most importantly I learnt ways and processes of work that help me evolve and grow in terms of my career as well as my personality.
Towards the end I found myself being able to think critically before doing anything. I was also lucky to get lectures on various topics like the essentials of contracts, Trademarks etc.
