Dua Associates, New Delhi

Duration of internship?

3 weeks

How big was the office? Team Strength?

Dua Associates has a big office and a huge library, where the interns sit. The office is spread over 3 floors, so going up and down to meet the associates can be a little tiring.

There are 7 partners and almost 40 associates in the office.

Application Procedure? Internship contact details?

I applied through a contact, however, one can send an email to to send an application.

Timings? Number of working days per week?

The interns start arriving at 9:30 a.m. and leave by 6 p.m. Saturdays are off unless your mentor specifically asks you to come.

Accommodation: how? where? reviews?

I live in Delhi, so accommodation wasn’t an issue. Although, one can find PGs near North Campus.

First Impression? First day? Formalities?

I had to go to the HR Department and give them my CV and a photograph for their records.

Then I had to go wait in the library till my mentor called me to his cabin. I met the partner I was working under. He was very warm and welcoming and introduced me to his associates.

Main Tasks?

I was just a beginner, so in the first few days, my associate gave me various contracts to read and understand.

Later, I got a lot of research work. I worked closely with matters related to FEMA, Company Law and SEBI.

By the last week, I got lots of drafting work from the litigation department.

Work Environment? People?

The environment in Dua Associates is very friendly, the associates are helpful and willing to teach you. You also get to attend meetings on important matters.

The co-interns are the best things and you get to find out and network a lot with people from other law schools!

Best things?

The best things are the co-interns. I made a lot of friends at Dua.

What did you do to chill? Co-interns?

Connaught Place and Janpath are just a kilometre away, so there are a lot of places to go eat and chill.

You also get an hour for lunch, so you have time to go explore the nearby places.

Biggest lessons?

I got the feel and vibe of a corporate firm and I, personally, loved it. It is also important that you work with dedication no matter how young you are because the associates will definitely recognize it and appreciate it.
