The office of the District Child Protection Unit was a small office with sufficient space. Its comprised of both Juvenile Justice Board and Child Welfare Committee. I was called to the office 12 pm. So I reached early that day.
Firstly, I was introduced to with all the officer stuff. Principle Magistrate Ma’am introduced me to my guide for the internship.
Main tasks
Since District Child protection unit deals with almost all the child related cases. I was given similar works.
I had to attend the board proceedings and took part in the weakly meeting of the Child Welfare Committee and see how do they deal with the cases were the interest of a child is involved.
I also did researched on the new Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act 2015.
Learnt the new adopted guidelines within the JJACT 2015.
Work environment and people
The work environment was very good I never felt like I was in new place around working with some new people. The officer stuff was really very co-operative.
I also got an opportunity to interact with Principle Magistrate Ma’am and also had some good discussion with the chairperson of Child welfare Committee.
Best things
Since it was my first internship I got to learn a lot about the court procedure and the difference between the procedure followed by Juvenile.
I also got a chance to work in rehabilitation adopted by the board to reform the Child in conflict with law.
Bad things
No bad things.

No stipend.
Any Other Thing
A small step can bring some bigger changes.
