About Counsel to Secure Justice

Counsel to Secure Justice (CSJ) is a non-profit organization in New Delhi, India that gives free legal and psychosocial support to survivors of sexual violence during criminal proceedings and advocates for effective and compassionate justice systems.

CSJ supports clients throughout criminal proceedings, ideally from when they report abuse to police till judgment. We work on the ground—at the police station, hospitals and courts—advising government authorities on the law, supporting clients, and monitoring progress of cases.

CSJ identifies systemic issues during casework, then conducts evidence-based research to support system change initiatives.

CSJ is registered as a non-profit organization under Section 25 (now Section 8) of the Companies Act, 1956. Also, CSJ has obtained Section 12A and Section 80G registrations under the Income Tax Act.
