Internship Experience @ Childline, Indore [NGO]: First Hand Experience of Some of the Pressing Issues {S}

Your Name, College, Year of Study, Email ID

Atisha Sisodiya

Name of Organisation, Location city, Team Strength

Childline, Indore [NGO]

Application Process

Basically the NGO takes interns who personally contact with them

Duration of internship and timings

October-November (4 weeks)

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

Since a residence has been converted into an office, there were no cabins or photocopy rooms as such but the place is sufficient for interns.

Main tasks

The main tasks involved studying different acts and then working on cases relating to the same. I worked on PWD Act, Juvenile Justice Act etc

I got a lot of research work with him. Waseem Sir, who is the head, made sure I was extremely well versed with the acts and statutes, and then taught me how to apply their various provisions correctly.

Best things

I got a first hand experience of some of the pressing issues that are otherwise not taught in law school.

Interning at an NGO teaches you a lot of ground realities. Plus, it takes immense hard work and dedication to seep into the layers of the society that are not visible to us everyday but still exist. It is very fulfilling when you know you can make the changes you are expected to.
