Application procedure? Internship Contact Details

Since I did not have his professional contact details so I applied through Facebook. I sent him my CV with cover letter on Facebook. Here is his Facebook profile.

Duration in weeks. Days of work per week. Timings.

5 days a week. Timings were flexible. Anytime between 11 am- 5 pm and if interested can work in chambers from evening 6 to 8 pm.

First impression, first day, formalities

Bhopal, District and session court is the biggest Trial court in Asia.

The office of Chaudhary sir is situated near Habibganj Railway station, It is very big is more like a library. They Mostly Handles criminal cases and sometimes civil also.

There were no formalities as everything was finalized through telephonic conversations that took place after his acceptance. On the very first day I was asked to select the judgements of the SC that can be applicable in a given case.

Main tasks

They will give you cases to read, research on some critical issues relating to the case. The important thing was observation. Observation of court proceedings, Hearings, arguments.

They gave me the cases, the trial of which was to be conducted that day and then after reading those cases, I used to proceed with them to the court for listening the arguments and pleadings. I was also given research work relating to Environmental matters, which are filled in National Green Tribunal by them.

Work environment, people

Every one is friendly and ready to give you knowledge. you can ask anything without any hesitation with the junior. I had the opportunity of visiting the National Green Tribunal, Bhopal Bench.

The best things AND the bad things

Good thing is that you will get a good learning environment. There are around 7-8 juniors working under him, so flow of knowledge is continuous. They will all teach, motivate and criticize in healthy manner which helps you in your learning process and is fruitful for future endeavors.

But since already many juniors are working under him, there is hardly any work delegated to interns. So most of the times you find yourself sitting idle and lost in day dreams. Sometimes it becomes so boring and frustrating to kill time. I used to take some books with me to read during the free time in court.

Accommodation etc. What did you to do chill in and around the office and the place of stay?

I stayed at my home during the internship. For outsiders there are many Hostels available near by. The district court is situated at the center of the city that is M.P.Nagar from where you can reach anyplace conveniently. You can get accommodation in Hostels in M.P.Nagar. It is mthe main professional hub of bhopal thus getting a place to stay in this area is not a big deal.

Since, Bhopal is called as ‘City of lakes’, there are many places to roam around beneath the shadow of mother nature. There is one Shahpura lake, where you can enjoy with your friends. It offers pureview of serenity near water.

Chaupati is just connected to it and if you are scared of consuming the thela wala food, then adjacent is a Rainbow treat, where you can enjoy the food with music. There is also a DB mall (considered the 3rd largest mall of Asia), 10. number, new market and upper lake.
