Application Process

I applied personally on the mail id :

The reply was not very prompt so one has to take a follow up.

Duration of internship and timings

20 May-18th June.

Timings were 9:30 am – 7:30 pm for girls and boys were required to stay till 9:30 pm or 10:00 pm.

Usually Friday was half day which means you are free by 4:00. Sunday is not a holiday in his chamber.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

You get to have a short interaction with Mr. Luthra on the first day where he assigns every intern a mentor. Then mentor assigns you tasks.

Main tasks

The main work for interns is research work which is assigned by the mentor. You are supposed to accompany your mentor to the Supreme Court or the High Court whenever he asks you to do so.

Jobs are limited to getting photocopies done, taking out books from the library, etc but mostly observing the court proceedings.

After coming back from there you can be allotted research work by your mentor but mostly you have to go ask the associates for work.

Work environment and people

The associates are young and they behave with the interns like a friendly college senior would. Interns are made to feel welcome. The office staff is friendly too.

Mr.Luthra himself interacts for short period of time but almost everyday. He is friendly and might offer you tea , coffee if he thinks you are uncomfortable or nervous.

Best things

The Court visits where you can see Mr.Luthra, the legend in action. You get to witness a few popular cases which might later become landmarks.

Criminal law cases are always like a thriller movie.

Bad things

You may feel hesitant to ask questions because every one presumes you know things.

No stipend

Biggest Lessons

Confidence with humility is the biggest virtue while arguing before Court.

This was the first mantra that he gave all the interns.
