Name of the organization.

Geeta Luthra, Senior Advocate, New Delhi

Duration of the internship

January 01, 2014 – January 30, 2014.

How big was the office?

Office is on underground floor and has a good space to work.

Team strength?

There were about 10-12 associates including Geeta Ma’am. Sanjeev Sir, Rohit Sir & Jatin Sir were senior among associates.

Application procedure

I applied 3 months before my joining through mail with proper cover letter and CV attached on & or

Stayed at my sister’s place.

First impression

There were no formalities at all. I was asked to report to the High Court but I missed to go there so went to the office at East of Kailash.

No one was present at office since it was court timing, so I waited for 2 hours at office.

Meanwhile I found some of the interns working with the office for last 20 days and they were not gone to the court due to some of the research work assigned to them.

I had chat with them and got to know the environment of the office.

After that one of the associate gave the task of drafting the rejoinder.

Main tasks

Interns were to follow up the cases in High Court.

We were assigned to draft the case on various propositions. Sometimes associates used to give the task of drafting joinders, plaint etc.

Geeta Ma’am used to give case research on different proposition.

Once have been sent to the District Court to seek further date for submitting reply.

I wrote an application and submitted it to the court and successfully got the next date.

For that I have been reimbursed with the travelling expenses and other expenses.

Work environment

Work environment was very good.

Associates were friendly except few.

Best things?

Geeta Ma’am used to interact with interns very often.

She used to ask about the doings of interns and sometimes cracks jokes as well.

Bad things?

Office timing was decent.

The works begins to start late due to which it lasted late.

After the court gets over all used to sit idle or make fun and after 7:00-7:30 pm the main work or preparation for next day’s begins.

The office was not properly arranged.

What did you do to chill?

We interns used to came out the office and visit small market there.

Spend time on ‘chai-samose-mungfali’ and other such stuffs etc.

Sometime associates take us out of the office.

We very oftenly mimic the judges of HC and associates.

Sometime we start discussion on current national-international politics.

It was bit disappointing because all previous intern were given Rs. 2000 as stipend but at our time internship in-charge told that there were too many interns so we’ll not give stipends to all.

Don’t know if it was in notice of Geeta Ma’am or not.
