First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

On the first day it was the new year he called me in the office at 10.00 AM. The office was situated near my uncle’s so i reached 10 min earlier. He asked me to sit. We had a formal talk about academics and then it shifted to the law and career I want to choose.

Office was more like a flat but well furnished.

Main tasks

During working days of court we have to attend the court proceedings from 10.30 AM-4.00 PM. after that in the evening some files were given to me to read after completing that he used to discuss the legal points in cases.

I also used to get little research work. sometimes he used to teach me how to do drafting of the cases. I was also come to know about how to file the case in the Hon’ble High Court.

Work environment and people

Work environment was quite good. Average size air conditioned office with 2 other advocates. A good library with many good books in that.

Best things

Best thing in this internship was the knowledge gain. Some 5-7 files were given to me on the regular basis. We used to discuss the legal points. I used to get research work which was quite knowledgeable.

Biggest Lessons

It was my first internship. First time I entered in any court that to directly Hon’ble High Court. I first time come to know the working of the court.

First time I saw the life of hardworking advocates and judges. I saw the lawyers running from one court room to another. It gave me a lesson of hardworking and devotion to work.

Accommodation

Regarding accommodation I had no issues.Office of Advocate and High Court was on walking distance from my Maternal Uncle’s home.

Office Timings

During the working days of court we were supposed to go to the court from 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM. As he was aware about my resident he used to call me in the evening from 8- 10 PM.
