Timings were from 9 am to 5 pm.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

Office was good and comprises of all required weapons of law like all updated law books, AIR’s can be found in the office, all the best resources required by a lawyer can be found in the office.

No formalities as such.

Office was quite small but full of work.

Main tasks

Main tasks involved in the internship was to report at High Court or District Court in the morning based on where your associates directs you to go the earlier night.

At the Court, task given to interns was to keep checking the item no. going in various court rooms and if the said matter comes to inform the concerned associate.

Also when mam’s matter used to come in court, to note down important points of the opposite counsel and to record the Judge’s remarks and note the date of next hearing.

It involved researching case laws, finding citations, marking important paragraphs, briefing the associate, taking down notes, drafting legal notices, etc.

Work environment and people

The work environment was not that much good. The associate will not ask you if you had your break or food or inquire about your college or law interests or anything. In short associates will not talk to you at all so if you do not have any other fellow intern, its gonna be really tough. The clerical staff is pretty nice and will assist you in every possible way.

Best things

The best things included at the internship was firstly the associates and then the interns were not allowed to pay for anything while at the Court or at Office, any food ordered from outside was paid by the associates.

Bad things

There was only one bad thing at the internship and that was very less interaction between the interns and Mam.

Biggest Lessons

First time I saw a hard working lady who taught us a lot by her gesture of work.
