Tanaya Rajwade

Name of Organisation, Location city, Team Strength

Chambers of Mihir Desai, Bombay High Court. The team consisted of Mihir sir and the 4 junior lawyers working with him.

Application Process

I got the internship by emailing him my curriculum vitae with a cover letter.

Duration of internship and timings

1st July, 2015 – 30th July, 2015

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

On the first day, I had to report to the office where I was introduced to the team. I was asked about my areas of interests and one of the juniors gave me relevant cases to read. I accompanied sir to the High Court and was assigned some research work in the evening.

Main tasks

Observing proceedings in the courts, research, drafting reports and petitions.

Work environment and people

The lawyers are all extremely helpful and fun to work with. I was allocated work based on my interests and I learnt a lot through my interactions with sir and the junior lawyers. There were 5 other students interning with me, and we all had a great time with the junior lawyers, who are young and do not believe in office hierarchies.

Best things

Interacting with Mihir sir and getting to work on a variety of subjects.

Also, an amazing party that all the interns got to attend.

Bad things

None whatsoever.

Biggest Lessons

I learnt the importance of having a good work ethic on observing the example set by sir and his team.
