First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

Infrastructure was royal.

Formalities, yes, get a check-in slip to enter the courtroom premises. Later thankfully, got the permanent slip. They require your id proof too.

First impression: I thought to myself ‘come on you will get to know and learn a lot from here’.

Main tasks

Case study, research related work like assignments, current affairs etc., courtroom proceedings: taking down notes, Legal discussions and other case related tasks.

Work environment and people

Talking about people, when you got to work in the Supreme Court of India you find highly professional people with sharp knowledge.

Work environment was acceptable specially at the legal discussion desk.

Best things

Courtrooms. They were entirely different from what we experienced in district courts. There was a decorum, discipline and every corner looked sophisticated.

Bad things

Nothing. Life seemed to be tough there though.

Stipend

No stipend. Just the certificate.

Biggest Lessons

Lessons:

You need to learn a lot about life and law as well. So get off the couch and start working.

The place changed my outlook towards certain things, for the better of course.

Patience. We all know how much patience you require in the field of Law.

That’s all I can think of.

Overall Rating

4

Accommodation

PG wasn’t required. I stay in the same city.

Office Timings

I was supposed to reach by 9:30 a.m and the court usually got over by 4 or 4:30 p.m.

Strict? Sir was flexible about the timings, depending on the work.
