First impression. First day, formalities etc.
My first day was pleasant as I was introduced to Mr. Bansal and he asked me what I know about copyright and trademarks and then gave me a book to read about it, asking me to join the next day.
He told me about the clients they dealt with which included some very prominent ones so I was quite impressed.
My main task was drafting the various forms and applications required for registration and post registration of the trademarks.
I also dealt with the client’s inquiries about the availability of the various desired names for trademarks and patents.
Work environment, people:
The work environment was very relaxed and people very friendly.
I never felt I am just an intern there as my opinion was not just asked but also considered significantly in many cases.
There were a lot of good things about working in that office but the most important was its location. Also, being a small office, I dealt with clients directly under sir’s supervision on daily basis.
There was a lot of work to go about and I was the only intern so there were a lot of opportunities to learn if you are interested in patents and trademarks. Also, weekends off!
The space was kind of cramped so that was an issue.
And sometimes the work was monotonous.
What did you do to chill? Co-interns, colleagues:
I was the only intern there but I had a lot of fun with my colleagues.
The office was surrounded by malls, restaurants and market so there were a lot of places to go whenever I was free.
No mandatory stipend as such but I got a stipend of 3000/- for a period of 3 weeks.
Anything else you’d like to tell; biggest lessons:
The office deals only with patents and trademarks. So go there only if you are interested in the area.
