FIELD OF WORK
This organization works basically for rights, particularly women rights, child rights, land rights and dalit rights. The work includes fact findings, field work and research oriented work.
WORK ASSIGNED TO ME
I selected women rights as my area of interest, so I was given some cases for analysis. I prepared a brief report on the rate of crime against women based on those cases, fact finding of some of the cases and data provided by the organization.
I also worked on the project of “one stop crisis centre – Gaurvi”, India’s first one stop crisis centre. I also submitted an analysis on the dowry prohibition act. I did research work for the book “Redefining the response to violence against women” published by ActionAid Association, Bhopal.
I learnt many things during my internship, for the purpose of reaearch I visited police headquarter, state human rights commission, women empowerment commission, women and child development centre and also the district court.
Working with the NGO and particularly with India’s first one stop crisis centre I got an opportunity to work for the rights of women at the grassroot level.

The environment of the office is very nice, all the employees and interns were very good, co-operative, friendly, helpful. We all used to have our lunch together in the office. The lunch time is from 1:00pm to 2:00 pm. All the employees treated the interns very nicely.
There was environment we all used to participate in the discussion on the relevant topics. The interns were always welcomed to give their ideas and suggestions. They guided us in our work, criticized us in a healthy manner.
The best thing was that I learnt a lot there, I got an opportunity to work at the grass root level for women rights. Every member of the organization is incorporated with team-spirit. They were always ready to help us, guide us and were friendly with the interns.
