Duration, Timings

4 weeks, May-June 2015. timings are generally 9 am to 6 pm, (however it depends mostly on work load) 6 days a week.

First impression, First day formalities, Infrastructure

The office is located on the ground floor of their residence and is a complete state of the art office.

Sir is a voracious reader and has an extensive library and interns have complete access to it.

There are no formalities as such, and sir is very warm and welcoming.
He will interact with the interns on a one-to-one basis and will ask as to what are your interests and what all you have studied in college.

Main Tasks

On days which the court is open you have to reach the office by 9 am. Sir deals largely with civil matters and criminal appeals.

During the internship I read cases ranging from land and matrimonial disputes, to cases under the MVAC.

Sir is always there to clear doubts and also values the opinions of the interns.

Work environment, People

There is a conference room where the interns usually sit. You have access to the computers and wifi for any of the work assigned to you.

There is a small kitchenette where you can have water/tea and warm your lunch or have a light snack.

There are four associates and are very friendly and always ready to help you.


No Stipend

Biggest Lessons

You get to see him present his arguments beautifully in front of the judges without having to raise or scream unlike many other lawyers at the high court.

It is indeed a Master class in arguments!!

  1. On the contrary when i interned there the scene was different. Whole day we were sitting idle. The Munshi of Amar Sir use to cuss so much about things and there was nothing much to do. Three computers with negligible internet. no manupatra. no other resource base. I will rate the internship 1 out of 10 and total waste of time.

    1. I totally disagree with you Raghav. During my internship in 2013 I had a different experience .There were loads of research work on wide ranging laws.Apart from this we interns were given drafting work like preparing list of dates and events,legal notices and replies etc .We read several case briefs and attended various arguments .The work environment is very good.He is an excellent teacher who has a hawk ‘s eye to perceive one’s strengths and goes extra mile to chisel one’s abilities and works on one’s weaknesses. Moreover he believes in doing and expects one to finish one’s work on time.
