In order to seek internship under Sir and take complete advantage of my summer advantage I submitted to sir my resume along with my bonafide certificate given by the University.

Confirmation of my application was notified via call from his associate advocate.

I started with my internship from June 6, 2016 which extended till July 6, 2016.

Duration of Internship and timings

The internship extended from June 6, 2016 till July 6, 2016 i.e. a complete one month summer internship.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

My first day was on June 6,2016. I was asked to meet sir and ma’am in High Court cabin in uniform sharp at 9:00 am.

I was super excited but first day jitters too existed. I reached cabin at 9:05 am. I was 5 minutes late.

I thought that I was just 5 mins late but after reaching the cabin and having an eye contact with sir and every else present there including his associates, students etc. I realized that I was ENTIRE 5 mins late.

I gathered courage to greet everyone there and apologized for being late. Though sir kept quite but his eyes spoke loud enough to warn me to be punctual. To my shock Sir politely said me not to be late next time onward.

Then I distracted my thoughts to notice the surrounding. Cabin was air-conditioned with the door made of glass panel.

Windows had blue curtains and near window laid a huge book shelf stuffed with all the law books and bare acts. Near to it was Sir’s desk.

The environment was totally formal and professional.

Main tasks

Main tasks of the internship included going through various case files and evidences and documents attached.

Later we had to make our rough issues which we had to present in front of Sir the next day.

It was really very kind of him to listen to every student’s point of view and tell us the mistakes in the issues made by us.

We later heard to the arguments Sir prepared and compile all the necessary documents required.

Work environment and people

Work environment was entirely resourceful and professional. My colleagues and the Advocates were all very knowledgeable and very understanding in nature.

They believed in understanding others’ arguments, thinking over it, as well as explaining others’ their point of view. Everyone of us found the entire internship experience very helpful.

Best things

Entire internship experience was filled with many best moments.

The foremost being the overwhelming nature of Sir, he took out time out of his extremely busy schedule to listen and teach every student and solve everyone’s issues.

Along with Sir all his associates were also very cooperative.

We had all the law books handy in the cabin which facilitated easy access.

Bad things

Though its said that every coin has two faces but I didn’t find any negative point which I could mention here as ‘bad things’. It was great internship experience.

Biggest Lessons

I learnt a lot from my summer internship. Some of them are:

Evidences matter a lot.

Even the smallest of document is to be attached and there is a set sequence of all the documents that we attach in the case file which is to be presented in front of respected Judge.

There is a different cell in the Court where all the fines and penalties are to be submitted which later goes to Government.

During the entire session of my internship I stayed at my house only as Jodhpur is my native or birth place.

Office Timings

The timings were from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. In between this we were given an hour break for lunch and a tea break.

The reporting timings were neither too strict nor too lenient. I learnt punctuality and seriousness towards work matters.
