I reside at Visakhapatnam, so I had to stay at a PG at Abids. It is a bit difficult to find PGs with AC in the vicinity. However there are a lot of non AC PGs in Abids and Koti area which are 15 mins drive to Nampally.
Food is pretty tasty, varied and affordable. I used cab services for travel.
First day formalities
I was asked to report at the office at 9:30 am, which was mentioned in the acceptance mail. After introduction, I was asked about my areas of interest in the field of law and in the kind of assignments I would be interested in.
One of the junior advocates in the office made me comfortable and mentioned that I would be free to use the library or the legal databases available in the office any time. In the afternoon I was taken for court visit. On my first day I was surprised to see media and policemen at the court as it was the judgement day for Mecca Masjid bomb blast case.
Ravindra sir is a workaholic man and he handles cases from District Courts to High Court. In a period of three weeks itself I got the opportunity to visit Sessions Court, High Court, consumer forum and other different lower courts.
He deals with various kinds of cases in civil, criminal, family matters etc that allows us to explore different fields of law. It is a bit difficult to keep up with his speed and dedication but that is what pays us priceless experiences. He takes good care of his interns and ensured that I have lunch and go home in time.
He teaches that every minute is valuable, during travel from office to court he briefs about the day’s case and gives the related documents to study. You are required to observe the proceedings in court and after returning to the office your internship diary is checked by him. In leisure, he discusses about the case in detail and talks about recent developments or judgements in law.
He engages the interns in works like typing and writing his cases which helps us in learning how to draft documents.
1. Busy atmosphere in the office, no time to waste, ample opportunity to learn
2. Warm, friendly and caring advocate and associates
3. Sir is very patient, explains every detail and answers questions with keen interest.
4. Office is very near to metropolitan sessions court and high court
5. Well equipped and resourceful library
1. No stipend
I would recommend this internship if you are wishing to explore the field and find your cup of tea as the office deals with variety of cases. No matter how busy he is, sir always spares time for his interns.
