Duration of Internship and timings
7th November, 2016- 30th November, 2016
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The first day we were briefed about our role and work.
The infrastructure was good.
There was a long table and lot of chairs pretty much like a huge conference hall.
We were given a topic for research and were told to prepare our briefs on the same.
Main tasks
My main tasks were writing down grievances of people who came to seek legal advice.
Then researching about relevant legal topics and drafting.
There was a lot of research work and then healthy discussions on topic.
Work environment and people
The people were nice and understanding.
We were provided with all the relevant books needed for research work.
We were supposed to carry our own laptops.
Best things
Everyone was very supportive and friendly.
I became adept in legal researching, understood basics of drafting and filing RTI.
Bad things
The heads and advocates were not available most of the time so we were pretty much on our own.
We were free to contact them whenever we needed to but sometimes they were busy.
Stipend
None
Biggest Lessons
I learnt the importance of discussions in our lives. There are so many things that get clarified just by a healthy discussion.
I also understood how to connect regular issues with legal rights to make them important.
Accommodation
No, I live in Delhi. I commuted through Metro. It is near metro station Central Secretariat.
Office Timings
There are two shifts. Morning shift from- 10 to 2 pm and afternoon shift from 2 to 6 pm.
The timings were relaxed.
