Period of internship – 25th of May to 16th of June , timings are 10 am to 5 pm.
First impression. First day formalities. Infrastructure.
We were received at the reception centre and an intern coordinator was allotted to us, who also gave us the first assignment. Briefing and familiarization of the work environment and rules was conducted.
Infrastructure is good and comprehensive. Amenities such as air-conditioner, water, internet access, stationery, pantry room for lunch breaks and reference books on various topics of law are provided.
One hour break at any time after 1 P.M is allowed.
Main assignments given at Abhay Nevagi–
Research and note on laws in India pertaining to grant of maintenance to wife after divorce
Prepared a note on the recent judgment of the Bombay High Court rejecting enhancement of maintenance granted to wife after divorce.
Research and note on judgments delivered by the Supreme Court and various high courts in India on grant of maintenance in the year 2014-2015
Research and note on review of sections 13 and 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955
Presentation on various judicial precedents pertaining to grant of maintenance to women in live – in relationships.
Work environment. People.
Work environment is stress free and conducive to work.
People were very nice, decent, helpful, cordial and professionally competent
Taught us how to research , analyse and comprehend the legal issues and put forward our point in a concise manner.
An internship presentation being compulsory was a very educative experience and gives us the confidence to speak on the issue involved.
Reference books could have been allowed for an overnight study as well.
Presentation acts as a big confidence booster.
They also publish your report on their website if it has credibility.
I would definitely like to intern here again. Great importance is given to intern training.
