Indian Mediation Week (IMW) is India’s Largest Student-run Access to Justice Campaign (4000+ Student Volunteers in 65 law schools across the country). Started in 2017 by Odrways (nowSama), one of top 12 ADR centers recognized by Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, it aims to tackle the challenge of lack of awareness of mediation services in the general public of India.
About the Summit
Indian Mediation Week is organising the ADR Summit. The event is recognized by the Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India and Hon’ble Justice Madan Lokur, Former Member, Supreme Court Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC), and the last edition was held in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog.
Based on the progress and success of the event, we have been encouraged for the 3rd edition (IMW’19) to be expanded to a larger scale. In 2019, IMW is hosting ADR Summit in four major cities of India:
Kolkata (8th December 2019), at National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata (1 PM- 3 PM). Theme: Promoting ADR and technology in Courts
Delhi (10th December 2019), at Constitutional Club of Delhi (10 AM- 1 PM). Theme: Promoting ADR and technology in Government Disputes
Bangalore (12th December 2019), at Bangalore International Center (3 PM- 5 PM). Theme: Promoting ADR and technology in E-commerce Disputes
Mumbai (7th January 2020), at Bombay Stock Exchange (2 PM – 5 PM). Theme: Capacity Building for Arbitrators and Mediators in India; Felicitation of Top Student Ambassadors of IMW
Some of the confirmed speakers include Governor of West Bengal JagdeepDhankar, G. R Raghavendra, Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice, GoI, Sunil Chauhan, Director at National Legal Services Authority, SachinMalhan, Co-founder, Agami, Bijon Mishra, Director.
The guest list for the event will include CEOs, Industrialists, MNCs, Banks, Traders associations, lawyers, mediators, Law Firm Partners, arbitrators, judges, ADR centers across India etc.

One of the first users of the Sama platform is ICICI Bank, one of the largest private banks of India, who has committed 10,000 banking disputes for online arbitration and online mediation.
In these Summits, Sama co-founders, Pranjal Sinha and Akshetha Ashok, will be hosting the first of its kind ADR Case Management Workshops for the participants. After attending the full workshop, participants will be issued a certificate which states that they are qualified in ADR case management and they will be added to the Sama Database.
