Application Process

I applied online for an internship 3 months in advance by sending mail to their official mail ID:

It included my CV along with a cover letter.

I received a reply from them within 15 days, confirming my internship and was asked to report to their office before starting my internship.

First Day

I reached office a day before the starting of my internship.

Their office is located at Parbati Chakraborty Lane, Sohini Apartment, Kolkata-26 and can be reached through various modes of transport easily.

On the first day I was not assigned any work, as I was introduced to my seniors along with 2 other interns and we were made to observe the working of our seniors..

Main tasks

Main tasks included drafting a writ petition under the guidance of seniors.

We were also sent to another NGO, where we interacted with the children and understood the working and problems, which was quite a different thing from usual legal work.

Sometimes, I was also given some clerical work and even enjoyed doing that, as we got so attached to the organisation.

The work environment at HRLN is very chilled out and at ease, as all the seniors are extremely friendly and helpful.

We used to get 30 min break in the afternoon, where I had lunch with my co-interns and sometimes with some seniors.

Often we use to have interactive sessions with our seniors, where we also got to learn a lot.

Best things

Everything from office to work environment, seniors and quality of work is good.

One will surely enjoy his/her internship here and will get to learn new things.

It was the most fabulous internship experience I have ever had

Bad things

Nothing bad as such.

No stipend

Biggest Lessons

The biggest lesson I learnt is that there a lot of problems which are often ignored by many lawyers and lawyers are too experienced to tackle them by using their knowledge
