Dua Associates, Gurgaon, 8-10 Partners with team of around 20-30 Senior Associates and Associates
I applied through my personal contact but you can send your CV along with a cover letter at firstname.lastname@example.org
Duration of internship and timings
9th June, 2014- 5th July, 2014.
I did 4 weeks internship where I used to come at 9 and leave by 6, I have only stayed back after 6 not more then 2 days. The best things is Dua Associates have their Saturdays and Sundays off which make a 5 days week
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
I was made to sit in the Guest room. I was asked to submit the documents which I was asked to bring in the confirmation mail. Then someone from the HR come to you and show you the way to library where you have to accommodate yourself with the other interns.
Soon after that I was asked to meet an associate from my team. My first impression was overall fine except when I saw my co- interns having their lunch on a stair case full of cigarette buds.
Although my interest was corporate but I was asked to work with the Litigation partner where I have assisted her on various case and prepared file briefs.
The best thing in Dua Associates was all the interns were assigned to different partners as their mentors and you have to report them daily with the work assigned to you.
The main task in Dua Associates is whosoever Partner gives you work he will ask you to Prepare a research article on the query and then he will himself go through that article and will correct you in your mistakes.
This place is not meant for lazy people if you are here to learn then you will have to go to the people and ask for work otherwise you can enjoy your naps.
Work environment and people
Work environment is quite good, people are chilled out, interns at Dua Associates are treated well and the most important thing is you have direct interaction with a partner.
You can’t be lazy in your internship, if you are then whole your month is a waste.
Go to partners ask them for work and show them that and always proof read whatever you are gonna submit him, a small spelling mistake can screw you.
