Duration of Internship
Summer Internship in the month of June for a period of 15 DAYS
[June 8, 2018 to June 22, 2018]
I got this Internship through my college but you can apply by sending your resume to [email protected]you will get a reply within a day or maximum within a week. You can also go to the office directly and they will make arrangements for your internship.
As I’m from Chennai I didn’t have many complications about the stay. But you can find lots of PG around the office.
First day formalities
The very first day I reached the office half an hour before the scheduled time. Later, I met my Co-interns from different Universities and we were made to wait to meet up the Secretary of DLSA, DR. I. JAYANTHI M.A., M.A., M.A., M.A., M.B.A., M.L., PH.D., Ph.D. (U.S).
Then we met her and she greeted us best of luck for our Intern and signed our proceeding sheet. We were asked to take copies of the proceeding sheet to submit it as an entry copy at the places where you visit.
There is no stipend, but you got to have a different experience which is very valuable.
All the associates and staffs were very friendly. You can easily interact with each of them. Not only the office associates even the Secretary of DLSA Dr. Jayanthi Maa’m, Senior Civil Judge, made us feel so comfortable during our intern and she was very kind and amicable to us.
Office hours are between 10:00 a.m to 5:30 p.m. But you can leave early at times when you go for the field visit.
The best thing was that we had a great work environment and helpful associates. They used to teach us so much when we go for the field visit.
Unlike other Internships where interns will be put into pressure and associates allot most of their work to the interns, we did not have any such drawbacks. The associates were always there to guide you.
Every day I used to get a new experience. so, the work was never boring since I had many field visits and also I could learn a lot about various branches in Lok-Adalat.
There was no good ventilation at the office. Since the temperature was too high, summer made us tiring very soon.
Internship at DLSA gave me a wonderful opportunity and a great exposure to practically learn the legal knowledge. We’ve visited many places like Central Prison at Puzhal, Saidapet Sub-Jail, Juvenile Justice Board, Child Welfare Committee, Mental Health Care (IMH), Lok-Adalat Proceedings including pre-litigation, mediation, etc.
We had a very new experience in all respective places and gathered numerous pieces of information. We had a chance to meet and speak a few words to many retired High Court Judges.
My co-interns were very friendly. Though the students were from different universities like Sastra, School of Excellence in Law, Middlesex University from the UK, Alliance Univesity from Bangalore they were very amicable in approach which made my intern even more enjoyable.
Since practical experiences are the best and this Internship gave that hands-on experience which I really need on. I sincerely thank My College and DLSA for providing such a wonderful and valuable intern.
