The biggest advantage of interning here was that the office is very quick in replying and my internship was confirmed within 3 days of my application but try to send in your application as quickly as possible as they don’t take too many interns.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

DA Law Chambers is situated in the posh locality of Nizamuddin East, near Humayun’s Tomb and can be easily reached with the nearest metro stations being Jungpura and Khan Market.

The first impression was really nice as the locality is very nice and the office is situated just opposite to a park. The support staffs of the office are very kind and helpful. The office is pretty big and is shared by two organisations but with completely separate working space. There is no specific dress code until and unless you are directed to attend Court hearings but prefer formals for the sake of the profession. They take in a limited number of interns which is a very good practice as that allows the interns to get ample work. You need to report by 10 A.M to the office.

Main tasks

The team is pretty small and you get introduced to everyone on the first day itself. There are two main associates Mudit Sir and Krit Ma’am both the associates are very friendly and nice. As I was new to Intellectual Property Laws, I was given a quick briefing and introduction about the basics, working and procedure by Mudit sir.

We were all legal works related to research, drafting of legal documents, attending Court hearings, making briefs etc. The main work is related to IPR apart from other Civil matters and Consumer matters. Reading Trademark and Consumer cases was a really new and interesting experience for me.

 Work environment, people

The people here are very helpful and friendly. Even the boss Adv. Diva is very helpful and directly reachable for any doubt and is very kind and patient to explain anything and everything. The entire work atmosphere is very nice and light and people are not very strict if you do your work diligently.

Best things

The work and the way the Associates treat interns was the best thing for me, unlike other my other internships where only research work was being given to interns, here I was given drafting work as well, which was a great learning experience. I was never given any clerical work and any doubts you have will not only be cleared but also explained in detail. It’s very interesting and you can never get bored of it. Moreover, you get to learn a variety of work at a single place and under kind associates.

Bad Things

The only thing which I found a bit lacking in this internship was that you don’t get to personally interact with Adv. Diva Arora face-to-face as she doesn’t visit the office regularly and usually coordinates work through emails or phone. But she usually available for clarifying any query on the call and even the associates never refuse to explain anything.
