Justice V. R Krishna Iyer Chair on Human Rights, School of Legal Studies, CUSAT, Kochi is organizing a Three Day National Seminar on Right to Privacy from 06 to 08 January 2018.
The Three National Seminar is intended to provide a platform not only for the academic and
student community but to ordinary layman who has concerns on the scope, ambit and extent of the right of privacy and the extent of assertion of his rights.
The seminar intends to provide a space whereby meaningful deliberation on the jurisprudential basis of the right would be undertaken. The different facets of areas where privacy has emerged as a poignant subject would be dealt with. The big question as to what privacy means to a nation and an individual would be elaborated on.
The quest for protection of one’s privacy is within the heart of every individual and to what extent the state can intrude upon it is a debatable matter and hence the seminar intends to explore areas where intrusion needs to be questioned by the citizenry.
The seminar seeks to evaluate areas where privacy is emerging as a crucial question such as cyber world, medical technology etc. The seminar also explores newer areas where privacy can emerge as a crucial question so as to ignite research in this area.
