Call for Blogs: Critiqued: Submission on a Rolling Basis

Critiqued is accepting rolling submissions round the year on socio-legal topics of interest. The chosen topic has a higher probability of acceptance if it is based on a contemporary issue.

About Critiqued

Critiqued is aimed at initiating an academic discourse towards contemporary issues of socio-legal significance. Presently managed by students of National Law University, Delhi (NLU-D), Critiqued was started with a vision to create an analytical and objective understanding of social phenomenon, i.e., to interpret and critique these issues argumentatively, without inserting oneself in the narrative.

We have amassed 18,000 views and counting within a period of 90 days. We value objectivity, neutrality, quality research and sound argumentation above all.

The domain of our publications includes articles, comics journalism and book summaries inter alia penned by fellow law school students. Additionally, we offer columns written by eminent professionals and academicians across fields of law, economics and humanities as well as podcasts where discussions with such celebrated personalities on pressing topics
follow.

Submission Guidelines

Critiqued expects authors to present their thesis by adopting a structural manner of argumentation, where the central argument may be identified and the conclusion derived through research based on that line of argument.

By submitting an article under these guidelines, you consent to Critiqued publishing the said article and recognize, to the best of your knowledge, that such article has neither been published elsewhere, nor has been submitted for consideration to any other website.

The submission guidelines are as follows:

  • Format: .gdoc/.doc/.docx
  • Referencing/Citation Format: We prefer citations to be referenced as hyperlinks within the text. However, where the same is not available, the author may choose a uniform style of citation, such as OSCOLA/Bluebook/etc. to be referenced as endnotes.
  • Documents, where endnotes are used, must be single-spaced within an individual endnote and double-spaced between endnotes collectively.
  • The review process shall culminate within a period of 14 days. The submitted articles are screened twice through a double-blind peer-review process to ensure neutrality and the correctness of review and the following responses are possible to a valid submission when made under the aforementioned guidelines:
  • Your article is accepted for publication, to be published within 7 days from the date of notification of acceptance.
  • Your article is returned with directions requesting certain changes attached with an invitation to re-submit after making said changes.
  • Note: Once submitted, re-submissions are treated as new submissions altogether and are subject to the same review process.
  • Your article is rejected, with disclosed/undisclosed reasons for said rejection.
