Call for Papers: Criminal and Constitutional Law Journal [CCLJ, Volume 1]: No Fees, Submit by June 15

Criminal and Constitutional Law Journal [CCLJ] invites submissions that are highly researched, well-structured, easily comprehensible, critically analyze law and written in plain english.

The Criminal and Constitutional Law Journal is a pan-India initiative by the students of numerous National Law Schools to fill the void present in high quality legal research in Criminal and Constitutional Laws. We, at CCLJ, have been blessed to be guided by Numerous Judges, Lawyers, Academicians, and we are truly determined to achieve our purpose of yielding high quality blogs from the contributions of law students, academicians and working professionals.

General Instructions

  • All submissions must be in electronic form sent via E-Mail to editorial.cclb[at]gmail.com
  • Please ensure that your work is original, unpublished, and hasn’t been sent for consideration anywhere else. This declaration is mandatory to attach in the mail with your submission failing which we won’t acknowledge your submission.
  • You must certify that you have not copied in part or whole or otherwise plagiarised the work of any other person(s). If there is any kind of conflict of interest, or if your submission relies heavily on certain research undertaken by any institution, an acknowledgement letter from such authority is required.
  • Plagiarism must not exceed 15%, a violation of which will lead to outright rejection of the Manuscript.
  • A cover letter must be attached to the E-Mail along with the Manuscript which shall contain a brief introduction of the author specifying their year of study, college, LinkedIn Profile, and contact information for further communication.

Types of Submissions

The Manuscript can be of one of the following kinds:

  • Article: An article is a detailed analysis of a legal issue including its genealogy and future prospects. The word limit of an Article is 4000 – 6000 words. (inclusive/exclusive of footnotes)
  • Case Comment: A Case Comment is an analysis of a recent/landmark judgment which can be handpicked by the author. Strong arguments shall be made in order to support or rebut the arguments in the judgment. Priority shall be given to case comments on relatively new judgments. The word range of a Case Comment is 2500 – 4000 words. (inclusive/exclusive of footnotes)
  • Book Review: Book Review has to be written for a book which has been published in the last 2 years. The primary theme of the concerned Book must be either Criminal Law or Constitutional Law. The word range of the Book Review is 3000 – 4000 words. (inclusive/exclusive of footnotes)

How to Submit?

  • The length of the Abstract must be more than 250 words and not more than 400 words. The abstract must contain at least 3 keywords. You will have to submit your manuscript along with your abstract.
  • You will be intimated regarding the acceptance of the same within 15 days from the date of receipt of the submission.
  • The Deadline for sending manuscripts for Volume 1 is 15th June 2021.

Note: No fee will be charged at any stage, till the paper is published.

Format of Submission

  • The font size shall be 14 for Headings, 12 for Subheadings, and 12 for the main text of the Manuscript. Line Spacing must be 1.5.
  • Font used must be Times New Roman.
  • Citations must conform to standards laid down in Bluebook 20th edition.
  • Co-authorship is allowed up to a maximum of two authors.
  • All submissions shall be in MS Word Format.

For Authors

  • The copyright of the Submission, once it is published, would vest entirely with CCLJ.
  • With regard to any dispute that may arise, the decision of the Editorial Board of Criminal and Constitutional Law Journal shall be final and binding over the authors.
  • CCLJ has the absolute right to waive any of the rules at any stage of the review process.
