About the Event
Civic Studios is organising an event titled ‘Crime and Punishment in Indian Entertainment’. This will take place on Friday 8th November 2019 from 5:30 pm onwards in collaboration with and at the Godrej India Culture Lab, Mumbai.
Entertainment helps shape our understanding of the world. Indian film, television and now web series are rife with courtroom and police dramas that influence our perception of these institutions.
Through the event, we will explore the representation of crime and punishment in Indian mainstream entertainment, how it affects our understanding of justice, and what impact it may have on modern democracy-building in India.
