Duration of internship and timings

This was a 30 days internship. The official timings were 10:00AM- 6:00PM. But the interns used to leave by 7:00-7:30 PM.

I interned there from May 15, 2018- June 14, 2018.

First impression, first day formalities

On the first day, I was introduced to Adv. Gorangg Gupta and his partner Mr. Virat Tomar. The first meeting itself made me feel comfortable and settled.  After a brief introduction, I was led to the chamber where all the Associates and interns worked together. Mr. Vineet Gupta, was the person who guided me an other interns throughout the month. It was an experience which was quite anti-orthodox Internship experiences.

Main tasks

During the Internship, I was involved in various legal matters. I was responsible for:

  1. Attending Court proceedings of the various District Courts, High Courts, Central Administrative Tribunal, Debt Recovery Tribunal, National Company Law Tribunal and National Company Law Appellate Tribunal to enhance theoretical knowledge.
  2. Drafting revision petitions, applications, notices, police complaints, Letter of Legal Opinion and Rejoinders.
  3. Preparing the cross examination of affidavits and witnesses.
  4. Filing of cases and replies in the court.
  5. Inspecting court files and obtaining certified copies from the courts.
  6. Making case summaries and case briefs.
  7. Researching on various civil and criminal aspects of law. These included Company Law, Insolvency Law, Juvenile Act, Negotiable Instruments Act, Maintenance, Fraud, Divorce, Hindu Succession Act, Copyright Laws and White collar crimes.

Work environment and people

The associates and Co-interns were really helpful and friendly and fun loving. Also specifically to mention, the Patiala house Court Clerks and other workmen are equally helpful,  generous and kind.

Best things

The best thing about the internship was that I got to learn and be acquaint to the ground work that comes with the legal profession which is a must to experience for anybody seeking an inside out knowledge of the Legal Profession.

Bad things

No Bad things as such.

No Stipend.

  1. I was working [in a job] as a legal Associate in Credo Advocates for a tenure of approx. 1 month.

One thing which i have noticed prima facie that the interns are treated as a photocopier as well as hindi to english translaters for the purpose of true copy filings.

Most importantly if you are a girl then i suggest you do not join this firm because […] always try to hit on girls as his prime motive is most likely to have some intimate moments with her by giving her a nice treatment in the initial days. Thereafter when he understood that girls are out of his control he treats her like a slave […] they are useless creeps who are there to harass girls.

I worked for 1 month and this man treated me like a slave not as an associate and at the time of leaving this firm he gave my salary by deducting sundays from it!

He belongs to a legal field and still he doesn’t abide the employment laws because there is only one law in credo advocates which is either to harass a girl by touching her unwantedly or to treat her like a slave that she on her own leave that job.

Girls be aware of this creep! I genuinely suggest you to not to join this firm for your better future and career as he and the 2 slaves gonna make your time torturous.

I don’t recommend this firm for men too because one of my colleagues didn’t get his salary for almost 2 and half months.
