I contacted Ms. Jayashree Gupta, Head of NGO, through his Blog with the prescribed application format given on her blog as well.
Duration of internship and timings
13th August, 2016 – 3rd September, 2016
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
First Impression was Good enough as the office was located in Jayashree Mam’s House only.
All the interns were heartily welcomed and introduced to the team of Consumers India.
We were then Divided in groups and allotted our Project assignments on the Induction day itself.
Main tasks
Field and research work related to consumer protection.
We were given assignments like case study of RTI filing experience, Consumer forum visit etc
Work environment and people
Work environment was decent and the team of Consumers India was friendly and cooperating.
Best things
Best thing was the helping and ready to help behavior of team.
Bad things
Late submission can debar you from the internship. No Bad things as such.
Stipend
No stipend but a fee of 1000.
Biggest Lessons
Learnt working of a NGO. How it works and how it functions. Also learnt many things related to consumer protection.
Accommodation
As I was an outstation intern, I was allowed to work from the home directly. But people can easily find accommodations in nearby areas like Munirka etc.
Office Timings
There were no office timings as such. Interns were given permission to work from their places and meet at least once in a week.
