About the Topic
Environmentalism without Romance
In 1986, James Buchanan won the Nobel Prize in economics for challenging the romantic notions associated with politics. Shawn Regan in his article ‘Environmentalism without Romance’ argues that “Politics is not the only area where we are subject to romantic tendencies.
Environmentalism elicits even greater romantic tendencies.” In this eBaithak, Shawn Regan will discuss the romanticism of pristine wilderness and the way it affects environmental policy in the anthropocene.
