To provide cutting-edge insights into current research work on legal institutions and finance, we invite papers on the following topics but are not limited to:

Alternative institutions and financial growth;

Culture and finance;

Religion and finance;

Governance of non-profit organisation;

Litigation cases;

Endowment and finance;

Political determinants of financial development;

Property rights and finance;

Contract rights and finance;

Misconduct and legal environment;

Investor protections and finance;

Legal procedures and finance;

Submission Procedure

Full paper or 2-page detailed abstract are to be submitted to: (Tinghua Duan) and (Jiafu An) with the email subject as “Edinburgh Conference on Legal Institutions and Finance”.

Submissions from early career faculty members and PhD students are particularly encouraged.

Important Dates

Submission deadline: 15th April, 2016

Notification of acceptance: 30th April, 2016

Conference date: 13th June, 2016


A one-day conference will be held at University of Edinburgh Business School on 13 June, 2016 (Monday). Presenting author is also expected to discuss a paper in the conference.

Each presentation will be followed by 15 minutes discussion and 5 minutes Q&A.

There will be no conference registration fee charged for presenters.
