The Army Institute of Law is organising a National Seminar on Human Rights between 19 – 20 September 2014.
The New Dimensions of Human Rights Violations in the Contemporary Times: Challenges and Solutions.
About the Seminar
The aim of the Seminar is to bring together experts, academicians and professionals to share ideas and deliberate on the new emerging issues to find solutions to the problems. The deliberations at the National Seminar will be an to opportunity to examine law-related issues from varied perspectives of a broad range of disciplines.
It includes anthropology, communication, critical gender studies, economics, environmental studies, psychology, sociology, and urban studies and planning which have been included in the theme of the National Seminar. Moreover, the legal issues involved in the Medicine and Health sector and Law and Media interface will also be deliberated upon in the two days National Seminar.
The sub themes for the National Seminar are as under:
(a) Human Rights and Health Law
(b) Human Rights pertaining to the Corporate Laws
(c) Law and Media
(d) Law and Society
I. Abstract : The abstract should not exceed 300 words and must be accompanied by a cover page stating the following:-

c. Name of the author(s)
d. E-mail address
e. Postal address and
f. Contact Number
II. Full Research Paper: The paper should not exceed 3000 words (exclusive of footnotes)
a. Co-authorship is permitted with a maximum of two authors only.
b. In case of co-authorship atleast one author must attend the seminar to present the paper.
c. In case a student is presenting the paper of the faculty members shall be allowed only if they have co authored the paper.
d. The main text should be in Times New Roman with font size 12 and spacing of 1.5.
e. The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, font size 10 with single spacing.
f. One inch margins on all sides should be maintained.
g. Citation style : Blue Book, 19th Edition.
h. The paper must be accompanied with the scanned copies of the filled in Registration form, DD details, the cover page, the details of which are mentioned in the abstract guidelines.
i. All submissions must be the author’s original and unpublished work. Plagiarized submissions will be disqualified.
Method of Submission
All submissions for the seminar have to be electronically mailed with the subject column as ‘Submission – abstract/full paper’ as the case may be and bearing the name (s) of the author(s) as the file name, only at the following e-mail address: firstname.lastname@example.org
Submission of Abstract: 20th Aug 2014
Confirmation of Abstract: 25th Aug 2014
Submission of Full paper, Demand Draft and Registration form (only Soft copies of all) : 10th Sept 2014
National Seminar : 19th-20th Sept 2014
Single Author: Rs. 1,000/-.
Co-author: Rs. 1,500 /-
a. This includes seminar material, breakfast, lunch, dinner, refreshments etc during the two days of the seminar and includes accommodation.
b. All the delegates are requested to bring one hard copy of the original Full Paper, Demand Draft and ID Proof at the time of Registration.
c. The Demand Draft is to be drawn in favour of Army Institute of Law payable at Mohali/Chandigarh.
