Centre for Internet and Society (CIS) in association with National Law University Delhi, the American Assembly, Open A.I.R. and the Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property (American University Washington College of Law) is organizing the fourth Global Congress on Intellectual Property and the Public Interest (“Global Congress”).
The Global Congress will be hosted at National Law University, Delhi.
December 15th-17th, 2015.
The theme for the 2015 Congress is “Three Decades of Openness; Two Decades of TRIPS”.
The theme juxtaposes the beginnings of an aspect of a culture of Openness with that of the establishment of minimum standards of intellectual property protection and the carving of limitations and exceptions within these standards.
It brings research, civil society, industry and regulatory and policy-making communities together for active, intense engagement on key public-interest intellectual property issues.
The aim of the event is to support the formation of strong networks and dissemination of research, with an aim of empowering them to respond to law reform and enforcement proposals that threaten access and innovation, and put forth a positive agenda for policy reform.
Since its inception in 2011, this will the first time that the Global Congress is being held in Asia.
