The IDIA Project was initiated by Prof. (Dr.) Shamnad Basheer to reach out to the marginalized and under-represented groups, sensitize them to law as a viable career option and help interested students acquire admission in law schools, which are otherwise increasingly elitist spaces.
The hope is that increasing access to legal education would contribute immensely to empowerment of the marginalized and underprivileged students and the communities they represent.
Preparation of Training Materials
The Training and Materials Vertical (T&M Team) of IDIA is responsible for preparation of training-material for our trainees to practise with. The Team is inviting applications for the different projects it will be undertaking this year. Given below is a short description for each of the said projects, and your application is required to specify the project(s) you would like to be part of.
This Team would be required to go through all past-year papers under the CLAT, AILET, NLSIU and NALSAR etc. and sort all given questions subject-wise, topic-wise and difficulty-wise. Through this exercise, we intend to create a database of all those questions which have been tested in these entrance exams in the past.
This is a time-bound project, likely to finish by October, and will require a minimum time commitment of 7-8 hours per week.
Current Affairs Database
This Team would be required on an everyday basis to go through newspapers and cull out information important from the point of view of entrance exams. The said information will then be required to be filled in a common database, from where it can be lifted as and when necessary.
The idea is to create a March to March database so as to cover the entire syllabus for CLAT 2017. The Team will also be required to prepare multiple weekly worksheets based on this information. This project is likely to go on until April-May next year, and will require a minimum time commitment of 4-5 hours per week.
We are looking for two persons to handle IDIA Tests, which are primarily of two kinds:
The first kind are Aptitude Tests, which are nothing but tests administered to candidates for selection into IDIA. These are categorized into Easy, Moderate and Hard, and need to be updated before they are used by the IDIA Teaching Teams across India.
The second are Weekly Tests, which are tests covering one selected topic in each of the five subjects, and are administered to all IDIA trainees across India on a weekly basis. Topics for each week are chosen as per a pre-decided schedule. Currently, we need the existing tests to be reviewed and more tests to be created.
This is a time-bound project, likely to finish by October, and will require a minimum time commitment of 6-7 hours per week.
This year, we are going to give a new shape to IDIA Training. We are going to produce videos on CLAT topics in regional languages so as make learning easier and more fun for our trainees.
We will be using very simple software for this. Each video will ideally explain one topic and give some questions on it. Accordingly, members of this team will be required to produce videos on all topics under all five CLAT subjects.
This is a time-bound project, likely to finish by October, and will require a minimum time commitment of 6-7 hours per week. Fluent knowledge of spoken Hindi or regional language of our trainees will be treated as a plus point in the application.
As CLAT and AILET heavily test English skills, we are looking to prepare extensive training material for developing basic English reading, writing as well as speaking skills. This is a time-bound project, likely to finish by October, and will require a minimum time commitment of 7-8 hours per week.
Those interested in applying may fill in this form by 11:59 P.M. on Friday, 5th August, 2016.
Applicants having past experience with similar projects are encouraged to apply, although that is not a strict requirement for selection. Members of regional teams are also encouraged to apply.
Needless to say, each of these projects would require you to maintain a high level of professionalism and meet strict deadlines.
We would be happy to answer your queries.
