Duration of Internship and Timings

June 1-30 2017

Officially, the Timings are from 9:30 A.M-6:30 P.M, however, one might be required to stay back in the office depending on work.

During my internship, I never had to stay back in the office after 9:00 pm. Moreover, the general work environment at this firm is so good that you won’t mind staying back (not kidding!)

Internship Experience

By far it has been the most enriching internship which I did during my law school. Managing Partner of the Firm, Mr. Vikram Mehta is very cheerful and helping. He makes sure that you are getting good work. He is very much approachable and if you’re having any trouble, you can freely walk up to him and seek his guidance, he would be more than happy to help.

The associates are super chilled out and are more than willing to help you out whenever you need their help. Interns and associates have lunch together, because of which you get to interact with them. Although they are very nice and warm, it does not mean that you can take the work given by them for granted.

Everyone at Aquilaw takes work very seriously and they expect you to do it properly. Work is given depending on your inclination to work.

Main Tasks

During my internship, I drafted various applications, made case briefs, researched on laws pertaining to Competition Act, MCI Act, Arbitration Act etc.

Best things

You are treated as an associate and not as an intern at this place and therefore, you are given constructive work and your input would be appreciated. During my whole period of internship, I got to attend client conferences, Drafted applicationsbriefed Sir on various matters.

Your opinions and suggestions are taken seriously by associates and even Vikram Sir himself can ask you to work with him on some matter.

Bad Things

Nothing bad at all

Biggest Lessons

Litigation is not easy. It requires a lot of time, effort and dedication. Also, one should always read the file as well as Annexures thoroughly because the devil lies in the details
