About the advocate
I interned in the office of Mr. Sanjay Kapur, Advocate on Record (AOR), Supreme Court of India. Mr. Sanjay Kapur is a famous litigation lawyer who has appeared in many high-profile cases before the Supreme Court.
I interned in the month of December, 2017 for one month. Generally He takes intern for maximum duration of four weeks (i.e.) One month. However on request he may extend the duration of internship on the basis of performance demonstrated and dedication towards the work.

Sanjay Kapur who is senior partner of law firm, ‘Sanjay RPK Law’ generally encourages students/lawyers who demonstrate their genuine willingness to learn. Generally as a matter of Policy they take two interns at a point of time.

About the office
Mr Sanjay Kapur has a chamber in Supreme Court and an office in Neeti Bagh, New Delh. He have four associates who are very knowledgeable and eager to share their legal wisdom with interns. Apart from that he has two Personal Secretaries, and about 6 persons in his staff who assist him and his team in day to day affairs at court and office.
10 am – 7:30 pm on weekdays and 10 am – 5pm on Saturdays. Sunday the office remains closed.
Day 1: 9:30 am, I reported to the office, one of the secretaries was expecting me and he had a printout of my CV, he handed me over the personal daily cause list and asked me to see him in the evening for assignment.
I then met Advocate Sir for 5 mins and started my day by introducing myself to the other associates and getting familiar with the surroundings.
From next day I started attending the Supreme Court proceedings. Later, I was given an opportunity to attend conferences with Senior Advocates like Mr. Mukul Rohatgi and Mr. Tushar Mehta.
This internship will open your mental horizons and help you to understand what is expected from lawyer, what responsibilities a lawyers carries and how we as a future lawyer can learn how to reconcile the interest of client and personal interest while being duty bound and fair towards the court.
